Pro bono

Pro bono

As lawyers, we have a special opportunity and responsibility to make a positive impact both locally and internationally by providing pro bono legal advice. All lawyers at LALIVE are encouraged to participate.

We are particularly committed to assisting non-profit organisations whose objectives align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aimed at ending poverty and hunger, protecting the planet, and securing peace and prosperity for all.

Our partners and associates lead and coordinate the firm’s pro bono efforts across the firm through our Pro Bono Committee. We also partner with international pro bono platforms Advocates for International Development (A4ID) and TrustLaw to ensure our efforts are focused in areas where they are most needed and effective.

Examples of pro bono work

  • Providing corporate governance and contractual advice to a Swiss association that promotes art produced by people with mental disabilities.
  • Helping set up the Swiss branch of an Afghan NGO focused on educational projects for girls in Afghanistan.
  • Helping set up a Swiss law association for humanitarian aid, mainly in Ukraine.
  • Advising a marine ecology organisation on Swiss corporate and contractual issues.
