MARKETING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - GENEVE

We are looking for a marketing and business development manager, to be based in Geneva. The role will entail some responsibility for the firm’s marketing and business development department and a direct reporting line to the firm’s management.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting lawyers in bids preparation and answers to RFPs
• Monitoring and updating the firm’s corporate materials (including the website and brochures)
• Managing the full submission process with legal directories and awards, including drafting submissions, coordinating interviews, monitoring progress and success planning and coordinating the firm’s sponsorship and advertising engagements in key fora
• Creating content for and drafting news for internal and external dissemination, including on the firm’s website and social media channels
• Supporting and advising lawyers in their business development, in line with the firm’s overall business development and marketing strategy
• Supporting specific practice sub-groups partners in targeting clients and organising corporate visits
• Developing and implementing marketing campaigns across offices
• Managing and coordinating relationships with the firm’s external PR consultants
• Managing budgets for business development, marketing and communications activities
• Supporting the development of internal initiatives, including pro bono and diversity

Your profile:

• Law degree
• Native English speaker with reasonable level of French and/or German
• At least 3 years’ management experience in a similar role in a law firm. Experience in marketing dispute resolution would be highly valued
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Creative, results driven individual, who thrives in a fast-paced international environment
• Ability to build strong working relationships with partners, lawyers and staff
• Team player, with good leadership and project management skills, including ability to work well under pressure
• Competent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, experience in Adobe, InDesign
• Excellent presence and hands on attitude
• Autonomous, rigorous and outstanding attention to detail

HR DEPUTY MANAGER - ZURICH

Our dedicated HR team is growing, with the addition of an HR Deputy Manager, based in Zurich. We are looking for bright and motivated candidates, with a passion for HR, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a real desire to be part of a dynamic international environment. Reporting to and supporting the HR Manager and working as part of a team, the HR Deputy Manager will provide HR services in respect of the entire employee life cycle, from recruitment to termination.

Responsibilities will include:
• Acting as first point of contact for all HR-related matters in LALIVE’s Zurich office;
• Responding to enquiries from employees related to general HR matters (internal policies, processes and updates of personal information), with recourse to the HR Manager as appropriate;
• Handling employee relations, including complaints, with recourse to the HR Manager and the Partners of the firm as appropriate;
• Coordinating the performance reviews of legal staff and helping to monitor career progression;
• Leading our recruitment processes in Zurich, liaising with the partnership and the HR Manager to enable LALIVE to attract and engage the most qualified talent;
• Coordinating the onboarding of new employees and exit procedures for departing employees in Zurich;
• Assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of firmwide employee policies, procedures and guidelines;
• Acting as back-up and support for the HR Manager;
• Carrying out ad-hoc tasks and/or project work as directed by the HR Manager to ensure the provision of an excellent HR service in the Zurich and other offices.

What we look for:
• 3-6 years’ experience gained in a similar role; experience in a law firm would be an advantage;
• Degree or equivalent from a university or Fachhochschule, especially in the fields of HR or law; Swiss Fachausweis HR-Fachmann/frau would be of benefit;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and excellent drafting skills;
• Proven ability to work in a team as well as autonomously;
• Responsive, pro-active, and strong ownership of tasks and responsibilities
• Native or near-native German and excellent written and oral English imperative; other languages (including French) a strong asset;
• Strong understanding of Swiss employment laws and regulations and HR administration;
• Strong computer skills including MS Office (Outlook; Word; Excel, PPT) and HR management software (e.g. EURECIA).

SWISS LEGAL TRAINEES

We offer 18-month traineeships in Geneva and 12-month traineeships in Zurich in preparation of the Swiss bar exam. Our trainees work in the litigation practice group, with different teams of lawyers, allowing them to gain professional experience in an international law firm focusing on dispute resolution.

We welcome candidates who have graduated from university with excellent grades, wishing to gain practical experience in a challenging, high powered environment. Command of the respective Swiss national language is a must, as is a very good working knowledge of English.

Recruitment for positions in our Geneva and Zurich offices are on a rolling basis and we are currently welcoming all applications.
