Launch of the pledge initiative in Switzerland
We are pleased to report on the success of the inaugural Swiss dinner of The Pledge Initiative hosted by LALIVE and Homburger on Tuesday evening, which was attended by 40 leading arbitration practitioners from a variety of institutions, associations and private practice in Switzerland and Europe.
The Pledge, which aims to achieve greater gender diversity in international arbitration and more specifically on arbitral tribunals, was presented and stimulated an Oxford debate, introduced by LALIVE partner Domitille Baizeau and Homburger partner Gabrielle Nater-Bass. The participants heard the views of a number of institutions including the ICC, SCC, Swiss Chambers, WIPO, Madrid Chamber and was wrapped up by in-demand arbitrator Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler.
We look forward to continuing to support this valuable initiative committed to take action to ensure equal opportunities for women on arbitral tribunals whenever possible. The official adoption of the Pledge will take place in London on 18 May 2016.
