Accolades for LALIVE’s Arbitration Practice11 April 2019
We are delighted to report on two significant accolades for LALIVE’s arbitration practice in the last week.
At the inaugural Who’s Who Legal Switzerland awards ceremony held in Zurich on 3 April, LALIVE received the award for Switzerland Arbitration Firm of the Year. Who’s Who Legal recognizes those firms which are the best in their field following extensive research and interviews with clients and peers.
At the GAR awards ceremony held in Paris the next day, Global Arbitration Review unveiled its annual ranking of the world’s leading arbitration practices (GAR30), once again ranking LALIVE among the top 30 international arbitration practices worldwide. LALIVE is the only non-global firm and only firm of a civil law origin to have featured in every single edition of the GAR 30 since its inception twelve years ago.
GAR ranks firms based on a number of factors, including the number of arbitral hearings conducted over a two-year period, hours billed to arbitration, the total amount in dispute and the number of arbitral appointments handled by firm members and the number of individuals who appear in GAR’s sister publication, Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration. LALIVE reported a portfolio of cases as counsel valued at more than USD 12.7 billion, among the highest number of arbitrator mandates (63) and received some of the best scores in the peer review columns of any non-global firm, with 9 lawyers ranked among the world’s leading arbitration practitioners and 10 lawyers identified as Future Leaders, the 6th highest number worldwide. The editorial notes the opening of the firm’s London office in September 2018 as a positive step in the market.
The Who’s Who Legal Award and the GAR ranking are excellent achievements and recognition for our firm, consolidating the firm’s reputation in both Switzerland and the international arbitration arena.
