4 February 2020

LALIVE partner Domitille Baizeau has been elected onto the Governing Board of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) for a four-year term starting on 1 April 2020.

ICCA is a world renowned non-governmental organisation devoted to promoting the use and improving the processes of arbitration, conciliation and other forms of resolving international commercial disputes through congresses, conferences, publications, and the work of specific task forces. As a United-Nations accredited NGO it also participates in the work of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) in international arbitration.

The Governing Board is composed of 40 distinguished arbitration practitioners from over 30 countries. Domitille Baizeau is one of six new members elected upon a proposal by ICCA’s nomination and membership committee, which is chaired by the ICSID Secretary General. The new Board will meet on the occasion of the 25th ICCA Congress in Edinburgh in May 2020 on “Arbitration’s Age of Enlightenment”.

This appointment underscores Domitille Baizeau’s recognition as a leading practitioner in her field. She is also a member of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC and an immediate past member of the Board of ASA, the Swiss Arbitration Association, and the European Users’ Council of the LCIA.
