LALIVE Newsflash: New developments in provenance research in Switzerland regarding looted art
11 April 2016On 1 January 2016, the Swiss government initiated a new funding scheme for provenance research of artworks and cultural goods by museums or institutional collections and third parties’ networks in Switzerland. This development takes place against the background of international and Swiss efforts to create an effective legal framework relating to the restitution of, in particular, Nazi-looted art which have come again to the attention of the art world following the Gurlitt case.
