LALIVE organises a seminar on retrocessions payable to banks and financial intermediaries (December 2012)

11 December 2012

On 11 December 2012, LALIVE, together with the Association of Foreign Banks in Switzerland (AFBS), hosted a seminar held at the firm’s Geneva office on “The Swiss Federal Supreme Court Decision on Retrocessions: Lessons to Be Learnt”. The speakers, Alexander Troller, Dr Simone Nadelhofer, Sandrine Giroud and Nicolas Ollivier from LALIVE, examined the issue of retrocessions payable to banks and financial intermediaries in the light of a recent decision of the Federal  Supreme Court, as well as the current international and Swiss regulatory context; they also highlighted the key points on which financial intermediaries need to focus when reconsidering their fee arrangements. The presentations were followed by a Q&A session moderated by Raoul Würgler of the AFBS. The seminar gathered nearly a hundred participants from the financial sector including banks, investment funds, trust companies and independent asset managers.
