LALIVE organises double taxation seminar in Moscow (June 2012)

On 21 June 2012, LALIVE will host a seminar in Moscow together with Alimirzoev & Trofimov (Moscow) and  Patrikios Pavlou & Associates LLC (Cyprus) on the ‘Exchange of Information: New regulations under the Russia-Switzerland and Russia-Cyprus Double Tax Treaties’. The new rules are a major concern for financial institutions with Russian clients since they will allow Russian tax authorities to request information from Switzerland and Cyprus on bank accounts held or ultimately controlled by Russian residents. The exchange of information provisions in the new Treaties reflect the OECD standard (Article 26 OECD Model Tax Convention). The Treaty Russia-Cyprus will enter into force on 1 January 2013 and it is likely that the Russia-Switzerland Treaty will also become effective at the beginning of next year.
