LALIVE partner André Brunschweiler has been appointed vice-chair of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association’s (IPBA) Cross-Border Investment Committee (CIBC) for a two year term.

The IPBA is an international association of business and commercial lawyers who live in, or otherwise have a strong interest in, the Asia-Pacific Region. The CBIC is the largest and most active of all IPBA Committees with more than 500 members. It focuses on foreign investment and corporate laws and policies that are fundamental to the development of international commerce and which affect foreign direct investment (FDI) transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and the raising of capital across the Asia-Pacific region. Through a number of events and publications, it provides a networking platform for lawyers engaged in cross-border investment to exchange ideas, information and experience in order to advance their knowledge of the laws, practices and procedures affecting cross-border investment activities in and beyond the region.

André Brunschweiler has been an active member of the IPBA for many years and has close links in the region, having worked at a Chinese law firm in 2013/14. He regularly advises Asian parties on cross-border litigation and investments in Switzerland and Swiss clients in relation to their business interests in Asia and China in particular.

The firm is well represented at the IPBA with Partner Simone Nadelhofer having been an active member since 2012 and currently acting as Chair of the IPBA’s Anti-Corruption and Rule of Law Committee.
