LALIVE partner, Domitille Baizeau, appointed as Councillor of the LCIA European Users’ Council (February 2013)

18 February 2013

Domitille Baizeau, a partner in LALIVE’s international arbitration group, has been appointed as Councillor of the European Users’ Council of the LCIA (London Court of International Arbitration) by the LCIA Court which administers proceedings subject to the LCIA Rules of Arbitration. The appointment is effective as at 8 February 2013 for a period of three years renewable once. The role of the six Users’ Councils of the LCIA (Arab, African, Asia Pacific, European, Latin American & Caribbean and North American) is to support the LCIA Court and the membership department of the LCIA in creating and maintaining strong links between the LCIA and the users – prospective users – of its arbitration and ADR services worldwide. The Presidents, Vice-Presidents and Councillors of each Users’ Council meet formally once a year to report on significant developments in arbitration and ADR law, practice and procedure within their jurisdictions, and on any symposium held, or to be held, within their region. Domitille Baizeau has been an active member of the LCIA for many years. She was co-chair of the Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG) of the LCIA from 2005 to 2009 and is regularly appointed as arbitrator by the LCIA Court.  Most of the firm’s international arbitration partners are members of the LCIA and, from 2006 to 2011, founding partner Teresa Giovannini was a member of the LCIA Court.
