Promotion to Counsel

LALIVE is pleased to announce the promotion of Sonja Maeder Morvant and André Brunschweiler to Counsel of the firm, as of 1 January 2015.

Sonja Maeder Morvant, a Swiss attorney, joined LALIVE in 2008. She specialises in domestic and cross-border litigation, in particular white collar crime, mutual assistance in criminal matters and asset tracing, areas in which she has significantly contributed to the firm’s development. She is an Officer of the Business Crime Committee of the IBA and is ranked among the best Investigations Lawyers in Switzerland by the International Who’s Who of Investigations Lawyers as well as among the best Business Crime Defence lawyers in Switzerland by the International Who’s Who of Business Crime Defence Lawyers. Sonja Maeder Morvant holds an LL.M in International humanitarian law from the University of Geneva (2005) and a Master of Law, obtained in 2003, from the Universities of Geneva and Bern. She speaks French, English, German and Italian.

André Brunschweiler, a Swiss attorney, joined LALIVE in 2010 very soon after the opening of the firm’s Zurich office. His main areas of practice are commercial law, including international commercial contracts, and domestic litigation, including debt recovery and insolvency matters. He recently spent a year on secondment in Beijing as of Counsel with a leading Chinese business law firm and continued developing the firm’s practice in advising Chinese entities. André Brunschweiler graduated in 2006 from the University of Zurich (lic.iur.; magna cum laude). He speaks German, English and French.
