LALIVE recruits Joachim Knoll, senior international arbitration lawyer
LALIVE is pleased to welcome Joachim Knoll as Counsel of the firm as of 1 January 2013. Mr Knoll, a German national, joins the firm’s international arbitration group and is based in the Geneva office. He brings to the team his extensive experience in international arbitration, both commercial and investment treaty arbitration, in a range of sectors, including construction, energy and telecommunications. Mr Knoll has acted as counsel and arbitrator in over forty arbitration proceedings worldwide under most of the major arbitration rules.
Since he started his career in arbitration in 1999, Mr Knoll has practiced international arbitration in Paris with a large U.S. firm and in Switzerland with LALIVE from 2006 to 2008 and with a small boutique firm. He is admitted to practice law in the state of New York, in Paris and in Geneva as a foreign lawyer. Mr Knoll studied law at the Universities of Hamburg and Cologne and holds LL.M. degrees, with distinction, from Boston University and King’s College London, as well as a degree in European law and public international law from the University of Aix-Marseille III, in France. He is ranked in the International Who’s Who of Commercial Arbitration. He speaks German, English and French (See biography of Joachim Knoll).
