Matthias Scherer appointed to the Arbitration Committee under the Swiss Rules

Matthias Scherer of Lalive’s international arbitration group has been elected to the Arbitration Committee of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Geneva and to the Arbitration Committee ensuring the administration of arbitrations (http://www.swissarbitration.ch/organisation.html) under the new unified Rules of the Swiss Chambers of Commerce (“Swiss Rules”) . Effective on 1st January 2004, six Swiss Chambers of Commerce and Industry, including the Geneva and the Zurich Chambers, have indeed unified their Arbitration Rules http://www.swissarbitration.ch/SRIA_english.pdf. Its is widely expected that the unified Rules will further enhance the importance of Switzerland as location for international arbitration.
