Noradèle Radjai and Franz Stirnimann promoted Counsel of the firm

The partners are pleased to announce the promotion of Noradèle Radjai and Franz Stirnimann Fuentes to Counsel of the firm as at 1 July 2010. Ms Radjai joined the firm in 2007 and Mr Stirnimann Fuentes in 2009; both are part of the international arbitration group.

Ms. Radjai’s and Mr. Stirnimann Fuentes’s promotion was reported in the Global Arbitration Review Briefing on 14 July 2010: “Veijo Heiskanen, a partner in the firm’s Geneva office, says both are ‘exceptionally talented lawyers and we are lucky to have them on our team.’  …Gary Born, head of international arbitration at WilmerHale, describes Ms. Radjai as ‘a natural advocate with real poise and insight‘.  Markus Wirth, a partner at Homburger AG in Zurich, adds that he was impressed by a presentation Ms. Radjai recently gave in a complex arbitration case. ‘I consider her one of the very promising young arbitration practitioners – intelligent, hardworking and internationally minded,’ he says.  … Charles Adams, a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Paris, says Stirnimann Fuentes is a ‘terrific international arbitration lawyer with a great future ahead of him,’ adding that, ‘as well as being multilingual, Franz is hardworking insightful and a very skilled draughtsman.’  Nicolas Ulmer of Budin & Partners in Geneva describes Stirnimann Fuentes as “one of the leading younger lights‘ of international arbitration. ‘Franz has the unusual combination of being an excellent advocate and a top legal scholar – to which he adds perfect English, German and Spanish. His promotion is well deserved and Lalive is lucky to have him,’ he says.  Heiskanen says the promotions reflect the growth of Lalive’s international arbitration practice over the last few years, and are intended to strengthen the firm’s presence in the Latin American and the broader international market, including the Middle East.”
