Who’s Who Legal 2013 rankings: LALIVE consolidates its leading position in key practice areas

Who’s Who Legal, which identifies the foremost legal practitioners in multiple areas of business law, has again selected a very large number of LALIVE lawyers in the 2013 editions of its Switzerland and International Commercial Arbitration Guides, consolidating LALIVE’s leading position in its key practice areas.

The Country Report to the top legal practitioners in Switzerland, identifies a total of 15 LALIVE lawyers in the areas of arbitration (10 lawyers, ahead of any other Swiss firm), asset recovery (two lawyers), business crime defence (two lawyers), construction and real estate (two lawyers), and power (three lawyers).

With seven nominees in The International Commercial Arbitration Guide, LALIVE is again ranked among the very top firms worldwide, and the first non-global firm, in international arbitration.  LALIVE is the sixth firm worldwide in terms of number of nominees in commercial arbitration, with only five large US/UK firms ahead of it.  The firm is not only the best ranked Swiss firm but also the best ranked continental European firm, the best ranked non-global firm and the only firm with less than 100 lawyers appearing in the top twelve, confirming LALIVE’s position as an international arbitration power house.  One of the firm’s arbitration partners, Michael E. Schneider, is again ranked among the top 20 most highly regarded individuals.

Philipp Habegger and Marc Veit, who will join the firm as partners on 1 January 2014, have also been ranked in the Switzerland Country Report (for both arbitration and commercial litigation) and The International Commercial Arbitration Guide, which will bring the total number of LALIVE lawyers ranked by Who’s Who Legal to 17.
