LALIVE SA, an international law firm headquartered in Geneva and also present in Zurich and London, is seeking a Compliance and Investigations Practitioner to join our fast growing and leading Compliance and Risk Advisory team. This is a permanent (CDI) position based in our Geneva office.

Your Responsibilities:

Operating within the firm’s Litigation Practice Group you will be a member of the Compliance and Risk Advisory team, with the following focus areas:
  • Compliance and Risk Advisory: advising companies, financial institutions and international organisations on the design, implementation and enhancement of compliance and risk management frameworks.
  • AML/ Financial Crime Compliance: supporting AML/CFT mandates, including compliance risk assessments, controls testing, transaction reviews, remediation projects and responses to regulatory scrutiny.
  • Sanctions Compliance: advising on Swiss, EU and international sanctions regimes, including compliance assessments, internal reviews and ongoing advisory support.
  • Market Conduct and Integrity: advising on compliance issues relating to market abuse, insider trading controls, conflicts of interest and related governance frameworks.
  • Compliance Documentation: drafting and reviewing compliance policies, procedures, codes of conduct and risk documentation in line with regulatory requirements and international best practices.
Your Profile:
  • Lawyer or legally trained person with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance within a bank, law firm, or regulated financial institution.
  • Strong track record in AML, onboarding/KYC, and transaction monitoring.
  • Experience with insider trading, market manipulation, and sanctions.
  • Solid understanding of FINSA/LSFin, suitability & appropriateness requirements.
  • Excellent drafting skills in French and English; good German skills strongly preferred.
  • Ability to produce precise, structured written compliance documents and reports in both languages.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A good team player who is able to handle complex, high pressure, cases where precision and expert knowledge and experience are critical.

Our dedicated HR team is looking for a HR and Recruitment Administrator. Reporting to the Head of HR and working as part of a team, the Recruitment and HR Administrator will provide administrative support and assistance in respect of the entire employee life cycle, including particularly recruitment processes across all three offices.

Responsibilities will include:

HR:

  • Maintaining and updating employee records, ensuring compliance with firm policies and procedures and all legal administrative requirements;
  • Monitoring and coordination of holiday requests and approvals, working hours, compensatory leave, lawyer workload, time recording, overtime obligations, and sickness absences; 
  • Ensuring the HRIS is accurate and up-to-date and using it to provide accurate and useful information and reports to the Head of HR and the rest of the HR team, as well as to Payroll
  • Assisting with matters of employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting, including insurance declarations; 
  • Contributing to the efficient day-to-day operation of the HR function;
  • Assisting on ad hoc employee relations matters and other HR projects as required.  

Recruitment:
  • Providing strong administrative support to ensure an effective, timely and productive recruitment process, including by reviewing applications, coordinating interviews and feedback, and communicating with candidates;
  • Proofing, formatting, and posting approved job adverts;
  • Assisting with the preparation of contracts, contract amendments, and other formal employment documentation;
  • Administrative assistance in onboarding and offboarding procedures – filing and preparation of administrative documents and forms, database entry and profile creation.


What we look for:

  • Commercial education or equivalent; Swiss HR Certificat d'assistant-e en gestion du personnel would be an advantage;
  • Excellent written and oral English and French with business-level German is imperative;
  • Experience in an administrative role required; experience in HR or in a law firm/comparable environment would be an asset;
  • Rigorous organisational skills, an ability to prioritise, and a keen eye for detail;
  • Proven ability to work in a team as well as autonomously;
  • Talented, proactive, and motivated to learn and develop;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and understanding of confidentiality;
  • Confident with IT; experienced and competent user of Microsoft Office, and in particular Excel.

We are looking for a dedicated, bright, and motivated Legal Assistant with specialist experience in filing legal submissions, particularly with arbitral tribunals and/or Swiss courts. This position is ideally suited to an experienced Legal Assistant, Paralegal, Jurist, Clerk, or equivalent, with background in litigation and/or arbitration practices.  The successful candidate will be based in our Geneva office and will work in both French and English as part of cross-office and cross-departmental disputes teams. If you have an excellent attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a genuine desire to contribute to a dynamic and internationally disputes-focussed practice then we look forward to hearing from you. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the filing of submissions with arbitral tribunals and Swiss courts, including document formatting, cite checking, preparation of electronic and hard-copy documents, and translation work.
  • Supporting hearing preparations, especially in arbitral tribunals.
  • Assisting lawyers with document management, deadline management, procedural requirements and case preparation.
  • Handling administrative and organisational tasks and providing general administrative support to lawyers, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, filing expense reports, and handling incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Drafting and proofreading of correspondence and legal documents in French and English.
  • Managing the administration of client files, including physical and electronic filing and archiving.

What we are looking for:
  • Proven experience as a member of litigation/arbitration legal teams, with particular focus on filing legal submissions, before Swiss courts and/or international arbitral tribunals.
  • Excellent accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise effectively. 
  • Pro-active and responsive, demonstrating ownership of tasks and responsibilities; capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable in fast-paced environments. 
  • Solid experience in providing administrative support and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
 
Ideally you will have 3+ years’ experience gained a similar role, as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal or equivalent. Fluency in both English and French is essential, and business-level German would be a strong asset. You must be a confident and competent in using IT tools, particularly Microsoft Office. Experience with Exhibit Manager is also highly desirable.
