MELISSA MAGLIANA ELECTED TO THE ARBITRATION COURT OF SCAI21 January 2020
LALIVE partner Melissa Magliana has been appointed a member of the Arbitration Court of the Swiss Chambers’ Arbitration Institution (SCAI), which administers the Swiss Rules of International Arbitration.
Melissa Magliana is one of the seven new members of the SCAI Arbitration Court, which is composed of 28 leading arbitration practitioners from Switzerland and abroad. The appointment became effective on 1 January 2020 and is for a three-year term.
The firm’s partners have had a long involvement in this leading arbitral institution, including Domitille Baizeau who served as Court member from 2009 to 2019, and as Vice-President of the Court in her last term, and Matthias Scherer who served before her. Melissa Magliana’s appointment comes as a strong recognition of her expertise in international commercial arbitration. She is also a member of the board of the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), a member of its marketing committee and a co-chair of the ASA Practice Seminar.
