Ten LALIVE practitioners ranked as future leaders in Arbitration

The 2019 edition of Who’s Who Legal and Global Arbitration Review’s guide to the Future Leaders in Arbitration has identified ten LALIVE arbitration practitioners, including two partners, five counsel and three associates, in its yearly ranking, which is three more than last year. The guide, now in its third edition, selects arbitration practitioners aged under 45 who stand out among the best in their generation for their exceptional work as counsel in complex international arbitration proceedings.

Melissa Magliana (partner based Zurich) and Timothy Foden (partner with LALIVE (London) LLP) are both recognised. At counsel level, Laura Halonen is described as “an excellent lawyer with impressive drafting skills” and praised by commentators as “one of the cleverest advocates I have seen.” Commentators state that Catherine Anne Kunz “will definitely be one of the leading arbitration practitioners in Switzerland one day”, commending her “excellent advocacy” and considering her as “one of the best cross-examiners of her age”. In addition, Lorraine de Germiny stands out as “a sharp and excellent attorney” who is “definitely someone to look out for”. She is considered “a very knowledgeable and extremely skilled arbitration lawyer”. Sam Moss is singled out as “a leader in the construction arbitration field”.

Associate Eléonore Caroit draws praise for her “truly international arbitration practice”, which encompasses both commercial and investment treaty disputes. The guide further recognises Counsel Christophe Guibert de Bruet and associates Tino Schneider and Nhu-Hoang Tran Thang all of whom also focus on commercial and investment arbitration mostly in the construction and energy sectors, among others.
